Even if you can't see Him....

In the days of cowboys and indians, there lived a group of indians called the Cherokee. Now when a young boy came to the age when it was time for him to "become a man", the cherokee's had an interesting way of turning this young boy into a man. The father would take the son out on a long walk, deep into the woods. Here the father would blindfold the son, and set him down on the ground. The son had to sit there on the ground and stay blindfolded all night. The father would tell him, "Son. You must stay here. You cannot take the blindfold off until you feel the morning rays on your skin. Whatever happens to you tonight, you can tell no one. We don't know what is here in the woods, but you can not call out for help. You must face your dangers like a man." So the boy would sit there all night. Listening to the night noises, and not knowing what was there. Was that a bear? No..it wasn't a big enough sound. Wait...what was that rustle in the leaves over there? But the boy couldn't take off the blindfold to see what was going on around him that night. He had to face his fears calmly. Then as soon as he felt the morning rays on his skin, he took off the blindfold. And to his great surprise, he saw his beloved father sitting right in front of him. His father had sat there all night watching over his son. In the same way we are "blindfolded" in this life. We cannot see the reasons for the things that happen around us. But praise the Lord, we can call out for help, because we know that our Loving Father is sitting beside us watching over us. Just because we can't see Him doesn't mean he isn't there.

  1. Kalyse that is so true! That is exactly what I experienced! When all is dark, we must remember the key of promise that God has provided and that He stands behind every one of those promises. Great is His faithfulness! Your posts are always such a blessing! Thanks for letting God use you! Miss you... : )
